Sustainable development
Although not involved in preserving the environment in an operational sense, the Wendel Group makes sustainable development a major part of its strategy as a long-term investor. Particularly sensitive to environmental challenges and its social and public responsibilities, the Wendel Group ensures that all its subsidiaries make these issues a priority at the core of their development strategies.
Thus each subsidiary of Wendel has developed specific action plans to reduce the impact of their activities on the environment and natural resources:
- taking account of standards and HSE requirements
- obtaining ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 certification
- constantly increasing the number of green products
- reducing energy consumption and waste
- implementing and monitoring indicators for reporting and the development of new measurement tools (see carbon footprint).
Social policy
In addition to the numerous jobs that have been created as part of its investment and development policy, Wendel places respect for employees of companies in which it invests at the centre of its concerns. To this end the Group supports action and training plans to enhance skills, promote talent and encourage employee development.
